LGB 23570 UP F7A Diesel Loco, 1464, Collection Item

The Union Pacific shattered the tradition of boring black locomotives with its eye-grabbing yellow designs, like the one on this F7-A diesel from the Electro Motive Division of General Motors. Boasting 1,500 horsepower and a handsome "Bulldog" nose, the F7 was and still is the classic icon of diesel railroading in America. You can add the UP´s bold livery to your layout with this big LGB model. Two Bühler-powered trucks provide remarkable pulling power. Add an F7 "B-unit" (23582) for authentic digital sound.
The Prototype In the late 1940s, General Motors' Electro Motive Division (EMD) introduced this classic American diesel-electric locomotive. With its handsome "Bulldog" nose and 1,500 horsepower, the F7 was an instant hit with railroads and railfans alike. Almost 2,400 F7s were built, and for decades, these powerful diesel-electric locos could be found in freight and passenger service all across America. The Model This detailed replica features: - weather-resistant construction - opening cab doors - three-way power control switch - protected gearboxes with two seven-pole Bühler motors - six powered wheels - one traction tire - twelve power pickups - built-in speaker (for use with LGB "B-units") - voltage stabilization circuit - automatic directional lantern - two multi-purpose sockets with circuit breaker - length: 610 mm (24.0 in.) - weight: 4000 g (8.8 lb.)
