LGB 21582  Amtrak F7A Diesel Locomotive #105 w/Lights and Sound, Damaged Box *** Damaged Box Item *** This is a model of an EMD F7 A unit diesel locomotive painted and lettered for the American railroad Amtrak. The paint scheme and lettering are prototypical for Era IV. The locomotive's road number is different from that for 21580. Both trucks are driven by powerful ball bearing Bühler motors. Traction tires. The locomotive has a built-in mfx/DCC decoder with a variety of light and sound functions that can be controlled digitally. It also has a built-in socket on the back of the locomotive to supply power from the decoder in the A unit to the speaker in the B unit to go with this locomotive. The locomotive has many separately applied details, and the cab doors can be opened. Length over the couplers 61 cm / 24". Highlights Special series for the anniversary "50 Years of Amtrak" Many light functions such as long distance lights or a Mars light. Running Sounds will work in analog mode - B unit not required to produce sound The B unit to go with this locomotive is available under item number 21581, and another A unit with a different road number is available under item number 21580. A typical express train from Era IV – such as the famous "Sunset Limited" – can be made with the equally available new Amtrak cars. ***Please note, LGB's newer version of the F7 A unit (2020 and newer) will not run with previous versions of the F7 B unit.  The 2 pin connection on the A unit has been changed to prevent connecting the 2 together with the older style "2 pin plug".  Running the new A units with previous versions of the B units can harm the circuitry on the F7 A Units.
