LGB 22801 DR Steam Loco, 99 6001, Collection Item This powerful locomotive was built by the Krupp locomotive works in 1939 as a prototype for a standardized narrow-gauge locomotive. Using superheated steam, it could pull trains up to 80 metric tons (88 U.S. tons) up a 3% grade. Unfortunately, no further locomotives were built to this design, but the prototype of the loco still operates on the Selketalbahn line of the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB). This LGB model captures the loco in its Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) livery and lettering. The smoke box door opens to reveal the fire tubes.
