The red / silver "Warbonnet" passenger locomotives of the Santa Fe Railroad
are probably the best-known diesel locomotives in the world. But at the same
time hundreds of these blue / yellow diesel locomotives were used in freight
traffic, where they replaced the steam locomotives and did real work on the
routes from the Midwest to the Pacific coast. Whether fast refrigerated trains
with fresh fruit from California or heaviest loads from the steel works of the
Midwest, in multiple traction with up to 8 locomotives the F7 were up to any
challenge. These included the steep sections of the Cajon Pass, the Tehachapi
Loops and the Raton Pass. With two Bühler engines, the LGB model has the power
you need on the steep sections of your system. There is also the matching "B-Unit"
(26584) with digital sound.
