LGB 26660 MOB Class FZe 6/6 Powered Rail Car w/Lights and Sound

MOB Class FZe 6/6 Powered Baggage Car Constructed of Metal. In the Thirties suitable locomotives for the steep grades on the MOB were sought after for the Golden Mountain Pullman Express, which was to be used by the CIWL. The decision was taken here to acquire 2 electric powered rail cars with baggage areas. They had a performance of more than 1100 horsepower and were built by SIG/BBC. In 1932/1933 both units were designated as the class FZe 6/6 with road numbers 2001 and 2002 on the MOB roster. These six-axle B-B-B powered rail cars had a length over the buffers of 17 meters / 55 feet 3 inches and a maximum speed of 60 km/h / 37 mph. At that time, they were among the most powerful electric locomotives running on meter gauge lines! Actually, the two electric rail cars were supposed to pull luxury trains, but they were seldom used for this purpose because luxury trains no longer enjoyed any demand due to the economic crisis around 1930. The MOB thus used both powered rail cars in freight service. Over the years both units experienced several new designations and conversions. Right at the construction of the Hongrin Dam at the end of the Sixties both powered rail cars were a big support for bringing necessary cement from Montreux to Allières. At the end of the Seventies road number 2002 came up for an overhaul, since it had a fire. In the mid Nineties this unit was put into storage because of too small wheel tires. In 2008, road number 2002 was incorporated into the BC (Blonay-Chamby Museum Railroad) and some of the parts from 2001 were used to reactivate 2002. The articulated powered rail car 2002 now runs on the Blonay – Chamby Museum Railroad. The model of this articulated powered rail car is now being produced in the scale of 1:22.5 in metal as a high-end model. As you are already familiar with our high-end models, the class FZe 6/6 is done in a very high level of detailing. The paint scheme and lettering on the FZe 6/6 2002 for the MOB (actually currently the Blonay – Chamby Museum Railroad) are in the current condition of the real-life unit. Also correct for the era in the current museum condition are the pantographs and roof equipment. An mfx/DCC sound decoder with different light and sound functions such as the Swiss headlight / marker light code, cab lighting and interior lighting, digitally operated pantographs, and much more provide a high level of operating enjoyment on this model.

Length over the buffers is  76 cm / 30 inch, which can also run with no problem on Radius R1.

The running sounds will also work if running on an analog track.
